Only Human

Greet the people who greet you.

Exchange greetings. Who knows, your words might help them go through the day.

Say thank you to the people delivering for you in the rains.

Say thank you to rickshaw drivers, cab drivers. Even though it is their job, they provide a service to you, and just a ‘thank you!’ might give them a smile between all the abuses hurled at them throughout the day.

Smile at people whenever you face them. A few moments of humanity gives you a different outlook towards life.

Embrace the odd one among the crowd. Make them realise that someone, somewhere out there, does acknowledge their existence. Talk with the ignored, empathise with the needy. Roam with the ordinary, be in everyone’s shoes and realise their actions.

Every person has ups and downs, and you never know what phase they might be going through. Some situations bring out their impulse actions, they might be rude, they might be harsh. Just stop your abuses at your mouth and think, what exactly they’re going through.

Humans are social, but they don’t show their true self. They hide it. They might be bubbly, they might be sunny always. But somewhere inside their demons do burn them.

And when those flames burn enough, they explode.

The problem is, we only see the fire.

We don’t look at their ashes.
